To all WBOS Members
From Viv and your Committee
By now, we were hoping to be able to provide news and details of when we can start again, for “Shrek the Musical”.
Unfortunately we are unable to update you with any plans at present as we are relying on government advice and The Grand, to see when they will restart and how they will manage productions and audiences. There are so many risks involved and very high costs to consider. (Each of our shows cost us up to £100k, and we need to be guaranteed excellent audiences to cover these costs). And, of course, even before we get to the theatre, we must ensure the safety of our members in rehearsals, which we cannot do in the current situation.
We realise this is very disappointing for so many of you who were looking forward to starting back, but at the moment, our hands are tied. We thank you for your understanding and patience and we will provide you with a further update as information becomes available.
We want to pay tribute to our members who work in the NHS, as well as many of you who are key workers within the community. You are all true heroes and we commend your bravery and dedication in this strange and difficult world in which we now live. Enormous gratitude and deepest respect from us all.
We miss you all, we miss the laughter and the love, we miss the music and the dancing, we miss our mad world of musical theatre, and we miss the friendship.
We need you to stay positive and we need you to keep WBOS strong.
